  1. Who digs prior to the installation of the Techno Metal Post?

    There is no need for excavation since the helical pile is screwed into the ground using our 29" wide hydraulic installation machine.

  2. How do you attach the floor or beam on the Techno Metal Post?

    We have different types of attachments such as double or triple saddles, flat plates that will make it possible to anchor the floor to the Techno Metal Post foundation system.

  3. Can I install in all types of soil?

    We can install in all types of soils. We can either use a bigger helix or multiple helixes or drill deeper till it reaches the proper load bearing depth.

  4. What are the applications for Techno Metal Post?

    Techno Metal Post has been used in new foundations, additions, solariums, repairs to existing/old foundations, deep foundation, and underpinning projects. As well as commercial and industrial applications including signs, solar panels and floor remodeling.

  5. How much weight can it hold?

    Techno Metal Post is the first helical pile company with Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC) approval. Please refer to CCMC #13059-R for further information. Load ratings vary from 500 lbs up to 66,000 lbs (approximately 1000 kg to 30,000 kg per pile). All installed Techno Metal Post load ratings include a MINIMUM safety factor of 2.0.

  6. How does it work?

    Techno Metal Post works using a steel "helical pile" drilled into the ground. The pile is basically an over sized screw. Specially designed hydraulic robot (only 29" wide and 1,200 lbs) are used to install the helical pile into the ground. Extensions are welded on as depth is needed.

  7. How do you know when to stop drilling?

    The torque required to drill the helical pile is constantly monitored and compared to our standards. Through engineered calculations, Techno Metal Post has calculated conversion factors to give a load bearing capacity for the pile. As a second safety feature, every pile is also load tested using another Techno Metal Post engineered technique method BEFORE any load is applied.

  8. How long does it take?

    Depending on the soil and depth required, it takes about 30 to 60 minutes per pile.
